WNMU Permanent Collection Exhibit: Pen, Pencil and Print

Opening Reception Thursday,  January 26 at 6:00 p.m. at Francis McCray Gallery. Pen, Pencil, and Print consists of works of art from the WNMU Permanent Art Collection, started by Expressive Arts faculty member John Battenberg in 1960, and managed by Cecil Howard during the 30 years he was with WNMU as Expressive Arts faculty and Gallery Manager. The university has recently undertaken the project of updating and archiving the collection. This exhibition will showcase original works on paper such as lithograph prints, pen and ink, and pencil drawings, and is but a small sampling of the total WNMU collection, which includes local, national, and international artists such as Harry Benjamin, John Battenberg, Woodford Johnson, Diana Ingalls Leyba and heavyweights such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and Francisco Goya. Artists in this exhibit are collected by universities, museums, and organizations such as the National Gallery of Art. WNMU Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

The WNMU School of Business is providing free tax services (VITA) for the community in Light Hall, room 124. Services are available to families and individuals with an annual household income of $60,000 or less, and for those who are 65 years or older. Services will be offered on a walk-in basis only on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesdays and Thursdays between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Bring your: Photo ID (Driver’s license or other State ID) Social Security card/number.
