Dr. Evangeline Parsons-Yazzie will be reading and signing her new book Her Land, Her Love on Thursday, November 6 in the Global Resource Center auditorium, 7pm to 8:30pm. Dr. Parsons-Yazzie is a retired from Norther Arizona University as professor emeritus.

Book Description: Ninaanibaa’s heart belonged to Hashke Yil Naabahh (The Warrior Who Fights with Anger). She loved him for protecting his awee (love), Ke’ (family), Nabeeho (people) and Dinetah (land). Hashke Yil Naabahh is summoned on a pursuit to restore peace and harmony to Dinetah. Ninaanibaa’ gently placed her hand over her heart and wondered if her own heart was prepared to never feel love again. She stopped to think about life without love, the kind of love that her husband showered upon her. Leaving their sacred land was a painful decision forced upon them but Hash ke Yil Naabah and Ninaanibaa always relied on their love, prayers, and kinship in overcoming hardship, loneliness, and suffering. Will they escape the shackles of war and reunite within their four sacred mountains of Dinetah?

A fundraiser reception will take place at Hunter Hall from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. for 410 a plate or $12 at the door. Tickets are on sale at Bowden Hall Room 313.
