The annual Southwest Festival of the Written Word is taking place beginning Friday through Sunday. WNMU is a sponsor of this event which includes 40 free sessions to the community featuring well-known writers, as well as theater and performance pieces. The 7th annual Walk for the Heroes will take place on the WNMU campus, Saturday, September 30. Sponsored by WNMU and the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 368, the annual walk is a community-driven event that raises awareness and funds for local military organizations. This year's walk will take participants on a 3-mile route through historic downtown Silver City, beginning and ending on campus at Old James Stadium.
