Cyperaceae (Sedge Family)
Cyperaceae or sedges look similar to the grasses, but they are
in a family all of their own. Their stems, known as culms, frequently have
3 edges. However, not all Cyperaceae have triangular shaped culms (i.e., Scirpus.)
Cyperaceae have flowers with bristles, hairs or scales in place of sepals and
petals.
