Polygonaceae
(Buckwheat Family)


The Polygonaceae are represented mainly by three genera in the Gila National Forest: Eriogonum, Polygonum, and Rumex. They have small flowers in clusters with no petals. The stipules arise from united sheaths called "ocrea."
