Western New Mexico University hosts the return of the CLAY Festival in Silver City, a celebration of the earth, art, and the community that binds them together. The CLAY Festival celebrates clay, mud, and earth as the common ground of New Mexico’s culture and history. From June 4 to June 20, the WNMU campus and the surrounding community will be molded into a vibrant hub with a diverse array of events designed for artists, collectors, families, and lifelong learners:

Hands-On Workshops: Refine your skills with masterclasses led by world-renowned ceramicists (June 15–20).

Exhibitions: Visit the WNMU Museum and local galleries to view contemporary and historical works, including the iconic Mimbres collection.

Events + Programming: Enjoy multiple events and programs like The CLAY Market where you can shop for one-of-a-kind functional and sculptural pieces from top clay artists (June 20–21) and more.

Community and Family Events: Families will love the CLAY Play & Mud Fun with its free, drop-in activities for all ages to experience the joy of working with clay, and the Membres Plate Activity.
