Every year, books are challenged or even banned in schools and libraries, but readers like you keep their stories alive. Banned Books Week (October 5–11) celebrates the freedom to read and the books that spark conversation and change.
Join Miller Library for its annual Banned Books Event, hosted with the Humanities Department and featuring a thought-provoking reader’s panel led by Professor Frankland.
The program includes:
- Writer-in-Residence JJ Amaworo Wilson
- Professor Frankland’s Intro to College English students
- Professor Brown
- The Maverick’s Editor-in-Chief
- Christina Nealson, Grant County Poet Laureate
- And more!
Thank you to SWAG, Professor Heather Frankland, WNMU Media Services, Miller Library, the WNMU Humanities Department, Southwest Word Fiesta, and the Felipe De Ortego Y Gasca Speaker Series.
