Ben Altamirano Field is the home field of WNMU Mustangs football. It is named for the late New Mexico Senator Ben D. Altamirano, a Silver City native and 2005 WNMU Athletic Hall of Fame inductee honored for his decades of support for Mustangs athletics.
Beyond game days, the field hosts major campus gatherings, including WNMU’s spring commencement ceremony.
